Gary Tarr to Head MasTec Network Services Unit

MIAMI, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- MasTec, Inc. (NYSE: MTZ) announced today that Gary Tarr, Vice President - Central Region for Exodus Communications Inc., has been named President of MasTec's Network Services unit.
Mr. Tarr, 47, has been responsible for an eight state region for Exodus, the world's largest web-hosting company, tripling revenue during his two years with the company. Prior to Exodus, Mr. Tarr was President and Chief Executive Officer of American Information Systems, Inc. (AIS), a provider of internet and intranet based business solutions. Exodus acquired AIS in 1999. For nearly 20 years prior to AIS, Mr. Tarr worked at Cyborg Systems Inc., a payroll and human resource software vendor, the last four years as President and Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Tarr will head an approximately $150 million unit that offers design, engineering and other infrastructure services for central offices, colocation facilities and other telecommunication point-of-presence locations; systems integration and engineering, furnishing and installation services for internal voice, video and data networks; and wireless communication design, engineering and infrastructure services. Mr. Tarr also will oversee MasTec's network monitoring business.
