MasTec Prepares for Hurricane Rita and Expected Storm Restoration Effort for Customers

CORAL GABLES, Fla., Sept. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MasTec, Inc. (NYSE: MTZ) today announced that its corporate offices will be closed Tuesday, September 20, due to the hurricane warning issued for Tropical Storm Rita. While currently classified as a tropical storm, Rita is expected to intensify overnight to hurricane strength and hit portions of South Florida on Tuesday.

MasTec has been preparing for the storm and has completed its readiness plan. The corporate and field offices have been secured and the Company is prepared to help its power, telephone, traffic and broadband customers restore service as weather conditions permit. MasTec currently has restoration crews working in South Florida, the Carolinas, and the Gulf Coast.
