September 28, 2005

CORAL GABLES, Fla., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MasTec, Inc. (NYSE: MTZ) today announced that it has joined with the Mas Family Foundation to provide continuing support for victims of recent hurricanes in the Gulf Coast region. In this latest effort, MasTec has united with other local private and government entities to send much needed medical, food and water supplies to the affected areas. The MasTec truck joins a caravan of supplies leaving Miami-Dade this evening and should be on the ground in the distribution areas this weekend. The financial support for the project is being augmented by over 1,000 local volunteers who have assisted in obtaining, packing and transporting the items.

Mr. Jorge Mas, Chairman of both MasTec, Inc. and the Mas Family Foundation, noted, "Residents of South Florida know well the impact that hurricanes can have on communities and their citizens. We know these challenges first-hand and are honored to be a part of this great community outreach program to the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita."
